"Heart of Peace"
(Noon Universal Time)
Thursday, December 31st, 2015
at Central Reform Congregation
5020 Waterman (at Kingshighway)

If you were unable to attend last year's service, you can still watch the archive of the live stream of the event by visiting Central Reform's website at www.centralreform.org. Scroll down the list of tabs on the left side of the page and click on the livestream tab, then click on the "On Demand" tab, and scroll down to the recording of World Peace Day and click to play. The recording will begin at the actual start of the service. Please forgive the sound or other technical glitches.
Doors opened at 5 a.m. as luminarias glowed in the darkness of the early morn. Inside, those arriving could inscribe their own personal prayers for peace on a prayer flag, a project offered by local artist Jeane Vogel, "Dare to Touch the Face of God." Talented musician Raven Wolf C. Felton Jennings II welcomed us with lyrical flute and vocal chant.
Guests can took their food offerings to the kitchen and made their way into the sanctuary for silent meditation, or joyously reunited with friends as they were invited to awaken by the sounds of morning songbirds.
Spirit called us as Raven Wolf sounded the Call to Peace with flute and chant, and we surrendered to the vibrations of the Gongs as Patti Pellerito invited us to journey to the higher realms on the waves of primordial sound.
Stellar musicians, Tim Mead on guitar and vocals, Bridgette Kossor on keyboards and vocals, Brian Clarke on guitar and vocals, and Raven Wolf on flute and saxophone all opened our hearts and lifted our spirits. The delightful Rabbi Randy Fleisher welcomed us us to his Shabbat Shalom (Shelter of Peace), Jean Ponzi entertained us with her Green Wisdom, and poet and Wise Woman J'Asa inspired us with words from her journal "The Book of Now". Accompanied by the sacred healing sounds of Patti Pellerito on Tibetan bowls & gongs, event organizer and orchestrator, Jeannie Breeze, led the meditation as we journeyed to the sacred space within the heart, where we cleansed and tuned the chakras and wove the Diamond Body of Light, connecting the lower vessel to our highest selves to remember our true identities and envision peace on Earth. The morning celebration ended, as always, with the amazing rhythms of JOIA World Percussion Ensemble.
Many Congregants stayed to enjoy potluck breakfast following the service. (Please no pork or shellfish). Participating musicians had CD's for sale and there was a table with goods for sale to benefit World Peace Day and event organizer Jeannie Breeze.
